I need some sort of perspective right now.
I don't know which way I am going.
I only want goodness and even happier feelings. Especially when it comes to photography. I am losing some of it, trying to gain the business part of this journey. Why? I think it's part to do with insecurities. I need to just let it all go, and remember who I am and why I am here.
To create.
To capture.
And to laugh. I need to laugh.
From all the ashes of self doubt; a newer, stronger artist is going to emerge. I promise it will show in my images. That is my gift to myself.
I will not be let down.

Lake McConaughy-Family Session
I have been in contact with an old friend from high school for the last year, and we have FINALLY made it a plan and had a family session!
Adam (husband) and I drove to Lake McConaughy early Friday afternoon. Ahh! It was awesome to get out of town for the day. When we pulled up the waters were high, so high that it was hard to find a clear spot of beach. We managed. The weather however was horrid. Think; driving warm in your car. Feelings of summer overcoming you. You open the car door, and BAM. Wind, cold air and WIND! We had sunshine though :)
The little girls were so good though, and I hope I captured them in all of their pretty glory.
After the shoot the husband and I drove across the dam and sat on an overlook and watched the sunset. I don't think the day could be anymore perfect than that.

They came to sit & dangle their feet off the edge of the world & after awhile they forgot everything but the good & true things they would do someday. -storypeople

I heart faces {photo challenge} PETS
I am choosing this image as an oddball 'pet' photo. I love them, and I love the feelings they leave with you. To the equestrians at heart.

Advice to my children
I found this on another blog, and how it's oh so true.
And really. This is advice for me.
“Never get in a stink fight with a skunk.”
~Unknown
Let’s face it.
Some folks out there are just plain mean.
You may want to argue beliefs, stick up for a friend, or just plain do the right thing.
Just know when you’re up against a skunk.
You know the kind.
The people that make no bones about about being ruthless, venomous, hurtful human beings.
The people who think any venue is the right venue to take someone down.
We’ve ALL seen them.
They do exist.
Just take my advice and don’t tangle with ‘em.
Keep your distance and don’t provoke.
You will never win.
You MUST know your limits.
Just back away slowly and be on your merry way.

Picnics and Spring
I adore my children.
I have never understood the glitch missing in others to not do the same. It is completely unconditional. I am so very thankful I get to spend my days with them. {And thankful they put up with my crazy antics of setting up the tripod during our picnic at the park!}

Day in pictures
I have decided that every Friday I am going to do a day in pictures. I need to take more.
And to keep learning and practicing. I am not the most motivated lady in the world unfortunately. Here's to a new start!
{Stay tuned for Friday}

My girl
Three years. Three wonderful years. Lily came into this world with eyes wide open staring at everything around her. We call her an old soul.
Yesterday we celebrated her life and world with cake, balloons, and a Jump-o-lene. Oh and pizza. Can't forget her favorite thing in this world. Pizza.
She is the most amazing little girl, and I am so blessed to be her Mama. Happy Birthday to my little bug!
